Legend Bio Media Filter

The Legend bead filters provide excellent mechanical filtering of waste and crud while optimizing dependable biological filtering. The easy to operate valve body mounted on the side provides easy access to the media inside. Cleaning is done in minutes with no mess by rotating the valve body and switching on the blower to thoroughly break up the waste for back washing it out.

(Consider using a 2nd pump to the 2nd valve body. The 2nd pump could be set on a timer to run during day time to handle peak load resulting in energy savings)

Media Option

When purchasing one of the Legend filters above, you can select this Add to Cart button to change the media type from bead to the flow through media type. The flow through media permits faster flows and less mechanical trapping of waste and crud.

Consider this option only when using a vortex, pre-filter or other mechanical filter to trap and remove waste or crud from the water prior to the Legend filter.

"Bead" type media filters can trap 75-85% of waste
"Flow through" media filters can trap 55-75% of waste
