Wave-36 Vortex System Incredible water clarity starts with plenty of mechanical filtration before processing through the biological media. The Wave 36 Vortex System delivers on this with its vortex design in each of the stages. The first of the three chambers is the vortex settlement chamber. The next two stages incorporate a vortex design with each chamber filled with media for the biological filtering. |

One option that can be added to increase trapping even more fines or debris in the first vortex settling chamber is the W Lim Micro-strainer kit. Two different Vortex Micro strainers are available; the 500 and 250 Micron. 250 being the finer screen for permitting only the smallest of fines to pass through giving your water that polished look. We recommend the 500 for less maintenance. To purge the waste from the bottom of the filters, simply pull the 2 inch knife valve handle for 5 to 15 seconds. Then close. This can be done daily or weekly depending on fish loads and feeding. Less often during winter. |
